An Evening in the Garden

Join us for an amari and salumi tasting co-hosted by VICA and Monti Verdi Salumi. VICA members Guido Masé and Anne Dougherty are hosting this event in their beautiful gardens. Guido, a local herbalist who grew up in Italy, will introduce us to some favorite botanicals growing in the backyard of their Burlington home. Guido will introduce us to flavorful and medicinal botanical species,  we'll sample their extracts, and blend our own custom amari.  Monti Verdi creates salumi (cured meats) for those hungry for authentic, artisanal foods. The recipes for their salumi come from memories of their lives in Italy and the bountiful aromas and flavors that can be found on their land in Vermont. Stefano and Ale will describe the farm and salumi production and will slice samples of coppa, salame delicato, and lonzino. (Donations accepted.)
